How do I prepare for and look after my trees?

We have given several useful tips on the preparation & after-care page of this site to help you.

What is your guarantee?

All trees are checked before despatch but if you are dissatisfied with the order on receipt of the goods we will refund the cost of any goods returned provided that they are returned properly packed within 3 days of the delivery date. A plant can die if it becomes dried out or is planted in unsuitable conditions e.g. too wet, snow or frost - please see our planting recommendations on-line. A copy of our recommendations is also sent with your trees and we cannot accept responsibility for failures. It is essential to water in dry weather until the trees are established, however, should any failures occur we will consider claims sent by the 1st August of the season of planting if accompanied by 2 clear digital photographs (showing the surrounding area and a close up of the tree). We may also ask for a plant sample and we would usually offer to replace plants in the autumn for the cost of carriage. Please do not remove any failures from the ground until 10 days after you notify us of a problem as it may be helpful that we come to look at them. This offer does not affect your statutory rights.

Can I visit your nursery?

You are most welcome to make an appointment to visit our nursery at any time of year.

When can I get my trees?

Our trees are bare rooted and are available for planting from November to early April. The most suitable time for lifting and planting trees is usually after the first week in November and before Christmas or after mid-February, but we need to be guided by the weather conditions at the time. We will notify you if adverse weather prevents us from lifting your trees ready for collection/delivery on the date arranged.

Do you deliver or do I need to collect my trees?

Typically our trees are too large to be despatched by courier and we encourage you to collect your trees from our nursery in Herefordshire at a mutually convenient time. Please let us know if you are unable to collect and we will do our best to help with delivery.

We aim to confirm via email or telephone prior to collection/delivery and we will do our best to adhere to these arrangements but do not accept responsibility if any unforeseen circumstances prevent delivery/collection on that day. Should we be unlucky enough for this to happen we will make alternative arrangements asap following that date.

What if the trees I order are not avaiilable?

Orders are taken subject to availability. We reserve the right to offer a carefully selected substitute should a variety become unavailable, in such an event we will contact you to discuss this prior to collection/despatch. We only supply our own trees grown in our nurseries in Herefordshire.

When and how do I pay?

Payment must be made in full prior to despatch/collection of your order. Payment is currently by cheque or bank transfer.

What do you do with my details?

We only keep your details for the purpose of fulfilling your order. We never pass on your details to anyone else.
